Failure at Protesting #2 - War protesters lose the battle against….the War?
Posted by Aurvant under Epic Fail, General, News, Politics, War, World News | Tags: apathy, protest, Stupid, War |The war totally kicked their ass.
Apparently the anti-war crowd still hasn’t figured out that the majority of the people in this country would actually like to win this war, and considering that there is actually good news coming out of Iraq these days (sorta…kinda hard to tell with the MSM so vehemently anti-war these days) the social view on the war is becoming a bit more positive lately.
We aren’t losing the war so why quit? Right?
“People walk past and say, ‘I’m glad you’re doing something,’ ” said Marty O’Malley, a Forest Hills council member who has attended more than 100 anti-Iraq war events, as he stood in front of Democratic U.S. Rep. Mike Doyle’s Downtown office last week with the small gathering of activists.
“I want to shake them and say, ‘Why aren’t you doing something!?’ ”
I want to shake you and say “Why aren’t you at work?!” or “Why are you out here loitering on the sidewalk and wasting everyones time making an absolute fool of yourself?!”
At the grassroots level, anti-war activists are also trying to keep the war in the public eye. Last month, nine protesters gathered in front of the Regional Enterprise Tower, Downtown, where U.S. Sens. Arlen Specter and Bob Casey have offices.
“Please think about this. It’s important,” Lynne Flavin, 60, of Lawrenceville, told passersby. She held a blood red sign that said, “Support the Troops. End the War.”
The typical liberal mantra regarding the war has always been “I support the troops but I don’t support the war”, but they fail to realize that by not supporting the mission that the troops are set out to do they are, in fact, not supporting the troops. If you try to argue otherwise then, if I were you, I would seek medical help because you obviously have a brain tumor.
However, the anti-war crowd will take the lack of people showing up as some form of apathy or people “not caring” about the situation. However, that isn’t really the case at all now is it? The majority of Americans support the troops and the mission they are trying to accomplish and would like to see them succeed instead of turn tail and run.
The left wants the troops to just give up and come home while trying to convince them that they’ll still be seen as heroes or good soldiers.
However, if Vietnam told us anything, it was that the anti-war crowd will see them as murderers and killers instead of the soldiers and heroes that they are. The troops need to keep fighting and win this conflict so when they come home they can punch these anti-war hippie morons in the face and look down at them and say:
“I did my job and I did it well. I succeeded where you said I would fail.”
And then he would kick them again.
